

Do you want to go into the new year feeling good about yourself and having avioded the dreaded christmas weight gain?
What can you do to stop yourself falling into the trap of that awful Christmas bulge?
Christmas is fast approaching you need to start planning how you are going to avoid packing on the pounds this year. Many of my clients come back to me in the new year feeling depressed that they have gained weight and become unfit over Christmas. And they are only away from me for a week!
What do you need to do to aviod the christmas weight gain trap this year?
1/ Change you mindset
Have you already written off any kind off exercise or healthy eating regime until the new year? If so, that needs to be addressed. Having a New Year’s Resolution to get fit is a good thing, but simply using it as a way of rationalising your christmas weight gain is not good. Christmas is one day of the year, don’t use the whole week to overeat and overdrink!
So now you have the good intentions, what can you practically do to minimize your weight gain this Christmas?
1/ Have a glass of water as well as your alcoholic drink at all times. This will ensure you don’t get dehydrated as well as reducing the amount of alcohol you drink.
2/ Eat a healthy snack/meal before you go out. If you are travelling around this Christmas you know you will be confronted by a lot of tempting treats. Chocolates, crisps, biscuits, etc, will all be on show. Have something healthy and fillinig, fresh fruit and natural yogurt for example before you leave. This will reduce your cravings for the unhealthy snack foods.
