3 Fat Blasting Foods

Did you know that eating certain foods can actually INCREASE the rate at which you burn fat? That’s right, it’s not all about the number of calories you take in vrs the number you burn off. Incorporate these 3 fat blasting foods into your diet and watch the fat melt away.

1/ Broccoli

Broccoli contains high values of calcium, manganese, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and iron, as well as vitamins A, C K.

And along with other dark green vegetables such as kale and cabbage it contains special phytonutrients. These phytonutrients protect you against ‘environmental estrogens’ that add to the fat levels in your body. So stock up on the green veggies!

Tip – If you (like me) don’t particularly like broccoli on its own, make a soup with it. Add garlic, ginger and chili to give it other flavours and it tastes totally different. And you can prepare a batch of it and eat it during the week.

2/ Oats

Oats are high in fiber, and also a great form of slow release carbohydrate. They basically help regulate your blood sugar levels and make you feel fuller for longer.

Tip – Make porridge (oatmeal) in the mornings and add some berries or raw honey to it to sweeten it up. This is so much better for your waistline that the sugary, processed cereals most people eat.

3/ Eggs

Eggs deliver the most nutrients for the fewest calories of almost any food, as well as being a great source of protein. So your body will feel full and satisfied after eating eggs.

You must eat the yolk though! This is where all the minerals and nutrients are.

Tip – Make scrambled eggs or an omlette for breakfast or lunch, and add onion, peppers, tomatoes to it.

Today’s Takeaway – These foods aren’t just good for your health, they stimulate your metabolism and promote fat loss. So start eating them!

    Hi Daisy,

thanks for your message. This is one of the biggest misconceptions around. Eggs are packed full of healthy minerals which your body needs. They will not lead to you storing fat, quite the opposite. Hope that hepls.

    Hi Phil,

thanks for your comments. Basically any nuts are fine, but make sure you get organic and unsalted and ‘raw’ if possible. If you buy a packet of the mixed nuts from the supermarket you will probably get almonds, brazil nuts, pecans, walnuts, etc and that will be fine.
