Cheryl Cole has recently stated that she is not on a Diet. But do we believe her?
Firstly take a look at the following 2 photos of Cheryl, the first when she first joined ‘Girls Aloud.’ The second a recent photo.

Whilst she wasn’t fat when ‘Girls Aloud’ started, Cheryl Cole has clearly lost a fair amount of weight in the 5 or so years she has been in the band.
Cheryl recently said the following;
‘It annoys me when people say: “Eat this and eat that”, just get off your arse and exercise.’ ‘You don’t have to deprive yourself of anything – if you want it, eat it.’
So do we believe she has lost all this weight through exercise alone, and not watching what she eats?
NO WAY! If Cheryl Cole is not on a seriously strict diet then I would be amazed. Its obvious that she has had to work to get the shape she has now, and those kind of results don’t happen by exercise alone.
She is seriously skinny and must restrict what she eats in order to achieve this.
Today’s Takeaway- Don’t believe everything celebrities say about their weight loss. Cheryl Cole may want you to believe she has achieved her weight loss results without following a diet, but that doesn’t mean it’s true.

We have all seen the recent pictures of Madonna with those bulging veins coming out of her arms. But what has she done to cause that?

It’s hideous right. Nobody wants to look like that, so what causes this bulging veins look?
We all know that Madonna does several hours exercise a day, and a lot of people seem to think that this is simply the result of that. People say her muscles are overworked and this gives them that sinewy look.
Please don’t think that, because it is not exercise that has caused her veiny arms, its her restrictive diet.
If you actually look at the photo, the problem is not that her muscles are overdeveloped, it is that there is nothing else there except skin and bones.
This is caused by not taking in adequate nutrition and calories to allow for the amount of calories she is burning. She probably burns well over 2000 calories a day, yet takes in only 1000.
This is what has led to the muscle and tissue wasting away and the bulging veiny arms that you now see.
Today’s Takeaway- Please don’t be put off exercising by these photos of Madonna. If you follow the correct guidelines that are here on this site I guarantee you will never end up with this bulging veins look Madonna has!

The Atkins Diet has had a very mixed reaction in the press in recent years. But many people continue to follow it, including celebrities such as Robbie Williams, Jennifer Aniston, Rene Zellwegger. So does it really work, of is it really that bad for you?

I have to say I have revised my view of the Atkins Diet somewhat is recent years. With all the negative press about it I always advised clients to steer totally clear.
Having looked into it deeper, there are certain aspects of the Atkins Diet that make a lot of sense. But don’t get me wrong, I still wouldn’t advise people to follow it, beacuse it has certain very unhealthy elements.
If you look at the chart above, the Atkins diet promotes a plan high in fruit, vegetables and protein. Its also recommending limiting your intake of whole grains, such as bread and pasta. This is the same advise I would give to someone looking to lose weight.
So on the surface it seems pretty good right?
Well the main problem is the type of protein people should be eating is not discussed. With the Atkins Diet no differentiation is made between a lean piece of skinless chicken and a cheese and beef burger.
Therefore with the Atkins Diet people end up eating high amounts of saturated fat, such as cheese and fatty meats. This is neither good for you health or your waistline.
Today’s Takeaway- The Atkins Diet has the right basics to it and should not be discarded as useless. But use your own knowledge when following a diet. Foods high in saturated fat are never going to be healthy no matter who says so.

A couple of weeks ago I wrote an article on Jessie Wallace and how she lost 2 stone in 6 weeks (article can be found using search tool in the right column).

I have had many questions about what Jessie Wallace actually ate, and what diet she followed to achieve this 2 stone in 6 weeks weight loss. So I have taken it upon myself to find the answers to these questions.
I will reveal the diet Jessie Wallace put in place below;
1/ Jessie Cut out wheat. The main foods that contain wheat are bread and pasta, both of which are detrimental to fat and weight loss.
2/ Jessie cut out dairy. Dairy, particularly foods such as butter, cream and cheese are very fattening. I don’t think there is any need to cut milk out (it’s very good for you), but apart from that keep dairy to a minimum.
3/ Jessie cut out alcohol. This is probably the biggest step you can take to achieving your weight loss goals. Cutting out alcohol is sooooooooo important to a successful weight loss regime.
As well as cutting out the above foods, she increased the amount of fish, nuts, seeds, fruit and vegetables she ate.
So there you have it. That’s the nutritional program that helped Jessie Wallace lose 2 stone in 6 weeks.
Today’s Takeaway – There is nothing ‘secret’ or ‘revolutionary’ about the diet Jessie Wallace has followed. So stick to the basics to achieve great weight loss results.
