You Must Eat Carbs To Exercise – Myth or Truth?

Many people believe carbs, i.e. bread. pasta, rice, etc are a necessity if you are a regular exerciser. However some people argue that even if you are a regular exerciser, excess carbs will lead to weight gain. So what’s the truth?

I believe that the vast majority of people eat too many  starchy or complex carbs. By this I mean foods such as bread, pasta and rice.

You do not need much carbohydrate in this form unless you are exercising at a high intensity for more than 1.5 hours a day.

You are much better of consuming carbs in the form of green leafy vegetables and beans. These sorts of carbs are not so heavy in calories and will not lead to you putting on weight.

You should also look to substitute some of the carbs you eat for more protein. This will help your body recover from the exercise as well as aiding weight loss.

Today’s Takeaway - Cutting down your starchy carb intake will not leave you lacking energy from your workout. You will get more than enough carbs from other, healthier foods.

Lower Back Pain – Simple Exercise Cure

A lot of people suffer from lower back pain. Unfortunately that’s a fact. However it is also a fact that 9/10 people can drastically reduce the lower back pain they are encountering simple by implementing a few simple exercises. Sound interesting?

The vast majority of people have very weak lower backs and deep abdominal/core muscles. This because most people rarely exercise these muscles.

If people are going to exercise their core muscles, it is usually the front stomach muscles that they work, for example by doing sit-ups.

So it may sound simple, but the key to resolving the majority of lower back pain cases, is the work and strengthen the lower back and deep core muscles.

Most people are so scared of aggravating their lower back pain that they don’t do any exercise on it whatsoever. Unfortunately this is the worst thing you can do, as it will not make the problem go away.

You should start  slowly and carefully when exercising your lower back for sure. But keep building up bit by bit and you will start to be able to do exercises you would never had dared do in the past.

Number 1 Most Overlooked Fat Loss 'Must' – VARIETY.

VARIETY is one of the most overlooked fat loss ‘musts.’ I cannot stress enough how important variety in your workouts is. But I will do my best to in this article!

Different forms and types of exercise put different stresses on your body and therefore stimulate it to react in different ways.

For example let’s take riding a bike and doing circuit training as two examples. These are two very different forms of exercise that have the same overall goal of keeping you fit/ losing weight.

However they achieve these goals in very different ways. Without going into too much detail the bike riding with aid your cardiovascular system and burn calories during the workout, whereas the circuit training will stimulate your metabolism for fat burning to occur post-workout.

These are two very different processes. But the point is that the overall benefit to your fitness/fat loss aspirations will be far greater if you do multiple different types of exercise. In this way your body will get all different sorts of fat burning stimuli and therefore get the best results.
