Top New Year Workout Tip

Today I am going to share the most important workout tip I can with you. Follow this tip and not only will it enable you to make exercise a consistent part of your life, but will allow you to exercise in a fraction of the time you thought neccessary!

You have to get out of the minset of counting calories and the idea that ‘the longer you exercise for the better.’

Working out on the treadmill,  cross trainer or whatever and counting your calories really is the worst thing you can do.

Why? Because it means you workout slowly without any intensity whatsoever. You just plod along, and although you may be burning calories at the time, you will get absolutely no post workout benefit.

The same idea goes for working out for long periods of time. You just don’t work hard enough. You are much better off doing a 5/10 minute intensive workout than a 30 minute ‘normal’ workout.

Why? Same idea, intensive workouts stimulate your mtabolism and fat burning hormones.

Today’s Takeaway – Workout hard and fast, not long and slow!

Fresh Food – Key To Staying Slim?

We hear a lot in the media about the importance of eating fresh foods. Obviously the fresher the food the healthier it is, but does ‘freshness’ really have an impact on your weight loss results?

Whether you gain weight or lose weight, is not simply down to the level of fat and calories you take into your body.

The form the food is in, is of equal importance. Basically, the fresher and more natural the food is the better.

Why? Because this way, the food contains more vitamins and minerals and has been tampered with less, i.e. had less/no preservatives, sweeteners, colourings, etc, added to it.

These ‘additions’ to products to increase their shelf life act as a toxin to your body. Any preservatives, sweeteners or colourings therefore will slow your metabolism down and result in more fat being stored in your body.

Conversely, if you eat fresh food and use the freshest of ingredients, none of these metabolism-slowing toxins will find their way into your body. This means you are only taking in the goodness from the food, eg. the vitamins and minerals which have the opposite effect; they increase the rate at which you burn fat.

Today’s Takeaway - Fresh food is a must for anyone looking to be healthy and lose weight. It allows your body to burn fat more quickly.

One Thing You Must Do To Get Lean – Build Muscle

So many people I work with are taking totally the wrong approach to fat loss and getting lean physiques.

Cardio, cardio and more cardio seems to be the answer for most people. But in reality building lean muscle is the number 1 most important factor in anyone’s fat loss journey.

The more lean muscle you have the faster you metabolism works and the quicker you burn fat. It’s really is that simple! Muscle burns fat super-efficiently.

But please don’t think building lean muscle means you are going to have great big muscles and look like bodybuilders. YOU WON’T! This won’t happen ladies, please believe me when I say that.

Doing weights in the gym is one way of achieving this, but by no means the only way. You can do resistance exercises at home without any equipment whatsoever that will build lean muscle. Search the site and click  the link at he bottom of the page for examples of how.

Today’s Takeaway – Building Lean Muscle = Fat Loss. Simple.

How often do you need to exercise to lose weight?

How often do you need to exercise to lose weight? This is the million dollar question isn’t it. Today I am going to reveal exactly how often and much you need to exercise to get great fat loss results. And I can guarantee you will be seriously surprised by what is required…

Firstly for the bad news (if you can call it that). I would strongly recommend you try and get some exercise every day. Don’t be put off by this fact, I will tell you how little you need to do later. But to get your metabolism into tip-top fat burning condition, exercising every day is important.

If you can get in the habit of working out every day, over time your metabolism will sky rocket and you will be burning fat around the clock without even having to worry about it.

And all you need to do is a 5 minute workout a day! If you have more time then great, but 5 minutes is enough to get great fat loss results. Check the ’5 minute workouts’ category in the right column for great workouts to have a go at.

Today’s Takeaway – Exercising every day is the key. But your workouts will be so short it should not be a chore for you.
